Skype Intergration with TriCaster

 

A common application that people want to connect to TriCaster is Skype.  While many solutions exist, this document will show you a method to connect Skype and TriCaster without using any video connections, it works completely over Ethernet. This workflow isn't limited to Skype, it can be used with Google Hangouts, WebEx or GoToMeeting.  It can also be used as a method to get the TriCaster output into another encoding application like Adobe Flash Media Live Encoder or Microsoft Expression Encoder.

 

You should also check out NewTek's TalkShow product if your are trying to connect a Skype workflow into a broadcast solution. TalkShow  is a turn key product using Microsoft's Skype TX software, which is designed for profressional applications.  It offers features like full screen clean video and audio outputs, aspect ratio adjustment, tally, talk-back and more.  Features you can't duplicate using the desktop Skype client.

 

This workflow is compatible with TriCaster Standard Edition and Advanced Edition v1 systems.  With Advanced Edition v2 systems this workflow is be greatly simpified with the NDI Transmit and NDI Scan Converter application.
